Is povidone iodine injestable?

I know that povidone iodine is used as a topical wound or pre-operative incision cleanser...yet, I have just read someone on the internet touting a cruciferous vegetable diet which also includes drinking a gl of water with 2 drops of povidone iodine every day. They suggest that this solution, taken internally, becomes growth hormone in the thyroid which fuels the growth of your brain and body. Any comments?
