Why are people trying to turn the US into Europe?

You are incorrect about the Government's role in American society. If I judge you by your name you come from a society that should know this. Private and Individuals have different roles in our society. Individuals have certain freedoms but with responsibilities and the government has certain ones to protect individuals rights. there are also rights for business as well and they have had conflict over our years in America, an exp would be the trans-Atlantic rail system or more recent issues such as BP !
