Are the letters on top of the 16-boxed Punnett Squares the same as they are on the sides in this case?
I'm doing this worksheet called Bikini Bottom Genetics—Dihybrid Practice and for #7-9 and #14, it requires me to make Punnett Squares. My teacher went over it briefly but not enough for me to understand it completely. Anyways #7 says What are the genotypes of SpongeBob, who is heterozygous for his yellow body color and his squarepants, and his wife SpongeSusie, who is blue and has roundpants? I said spongeBob= Yy, Ss and SpongeSusie= yy, ss. Then for #8 it asks what are the possible gamete combinations for each person? I put SpongeBob= (YS), (S Y), (Ys) and (y s) and SpongeSusie= (sy),(sy). For #9, it says to create a 16-boxed Punnnett square based on the information from #7 and #8. I'm not sure if I put SpongeSusie's sy all along the top and SpongeBob's YS, yS, Ys, and ys along the sides because I've seen in pictures that the tops and sides of 16-boxed Punnett squares have the same letters on the tops and sides. I'm thinking now that I would just put SpongeBob's gamete combinations along both the tops and sides. Is this so? I'm sorry, but I'm not trying to make you guys do my homework. And I'm sorry for putting so much detail, but I really need to know for this homework and for future reference. Thanks so much! :)
