Can taking 8 aspirin be harmful?

I have an extremely bad backache. It hurts to even breathe. I have taken a total of 8 aspirin in the past 4 hours in desperation to get rid of it. My mom doesn't believe me how bad it hurts so she won't take me to the ER, and I don't think we even have the money. So, will taking that many hurt me?
