Help name this film.?

I watched a film a few years ago, and its still bugging me what the name of it was, it looked pretty modern, and i would say the film was directed a bit like british director richie. I cant put the name to it so please help, its about a butcher running a slaughter house and shop, who hires an pretty istant, theres drug dealing and gangs with guns etc amongst the film setting in a council estate. He befriends his istant and adventually kills her after she starts to enjoy the attention she gets from him. The film is really gritty and idiscribe it as a low budget but excellent storyline of life on this estate. Any ideas what it is? I was thinking maybe it was a short british, you know the ones that never quite made it to the cinema, but i have no idea. As i cant put the name to the actors face. Please help.
